LANCASTER – Authorities have identified the man who died Friday night when his pickup truck collided head-on with a big rig in the Lancaster area.
He was 45-year-old Esteban Reynoso of Lancaster, according to the CHP and the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.
The crash occurred around 8:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 26, on Sierra Highway north of Avenue G, the California Highway Patrol reported. Reynoso was driving a 2019 Ford F-250 southbound on Sierra Highway when the truck collided with a northbound 2021 Freightliner driven, according to the CHP. Reynoso was pronounced dead at the scene. The freightliner’s driver, 49-year-old Jorge Gomez of Lancaster, suffered a minor injury, according to the CHP
“The involvement of alcohol and/or drugs as a factor in this crash is unknown at this time,” the CHP said in a statement.
