PALMDALE – The city of Palmdale invites residents to the unveiling of new playground equipment and the city’s first obstacle course at Desert Sands Park. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28, at the park, located at 39117 3rd Street East in Palmdale.
The new playground features sections geared toward children aged 2 to 5 and aged 5 to 12. There are numerous play structures and elements for kids to climb, spin, run and more. The obstacle course includes an eight-foot traverse wall, balance walk, seven-foot up & over net wall and a U-turn ramp. The equipment focuses on both the physical and social aspects of inclusion and child development. Notably, the SkyRun Zip Track offers a motion play activity that feels like flying. The Zero-G seat promotes inclusivity and allows all children to join the fun.
“We are thrilled to bring state-of-the-art playground equipment to Desert Sands Park,” said Palmdale Mayor Austin Bishop. “This improvement aligns with the city’s commitment to creating inclusive and engaging recreational spaces for children. The new features will not only provide exciting play opportunities but will also contribute to the beautification and enhancement of this beloved park.”
The project is fully funded through Measure AV funds, totaling $780,000. Residents are encouraged to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony and enjoy the new equipment firsthand. The playground is located within the 20-acre Desert Sands Park between the community building and softball fields.

A public park is the ideal happenstance for liberals. Since so many of them are dedicated community “activists”.
