Planner – Instrumentation & Electrical

The opportunity
The Maintenance Planner – Electrical, residentially based in Boron, California, will join the maintenance team in planning and analyzing all plant maintenance.
What the role entails
- Reporting to the Supervisor – Planning & Scheduling, the Maintenance Planner will be responsible for:
- Facilitating the work management process for periodic plant shutdowns and major equipment overhauls including: detailed work plans, schedules and job packages.
- Maintaining accurate data in the CMMS (computer maintenance management system) in order to be able to proactively analyze maintenance work.
- Making entries for new equipment into the CMMS as well as developing preventative maintenance plans for that equipment, and entering it into the CMMS for implementation.
- Ensuring the owner’s manuals, manufacturer drawings, specification sheets and certification documents are accessible.
- Determining what spare parts might be required and coordinating with procurement to stock spares in the warehouse.
- Maintaining accurate parts lists or bill of materials (BOM’s) for maintenance work.
- Initiating and expediting the procurement process for items needed for shutdown activities require long lead times.
- Making decisions with regard to how a task is safely and efficiently executed so that the equipment is staged and ready to use
What is needed for this role:
To be successfully considered for this role, you will need:
- 4-year college degree in Maintenance or related field, or equivalent work experience in maintaining Industrial equipment.
- Prior exposure to or experience with industrial maintenance practices.
- CMRP certification (Preferable).
- Knowledge of OSHA or MSHA and SAP (Advantageous)

Master Data Specialist – SAP

The opportunity
The Industrial Maintenance Master Data Specialist – SAP, residentially based in Boron, California, will lead and champion best practice application of the RTM maintenance system, Rio Tinto asset management, and Rio Tinto business solution standards and systems.
What the role entails
- Reporting to the Principal Advisor – Asset Management, you will be responsible for:
- Managing site master data including creating and maintaining functional locations, equipment, PM assemblies, measuring points and master warranties.
- Creating and changing work centers, capacities, revisions, planned cost data conversion, and rate evaluation for zero-based budgeting.
- Performing cross-functional activities in HSE, HR, PAM and PTP requiring restricted access.
- Developing and delivering of business unit (BU) specific training packages and representing BU needs with IPT Asset Management Group.
- Providing leadership to site asset management practitioners for the application of ABS business systems and continuous improvement projects through support activity, and identification of opportunities for maintenance practice improvements.
- Overseeing and ensuring KMS, RTAMM and Rio Tinto business standards compliance and acting as change agent to obtain compliance.
- Auditing of maintenance and asset management work practices and performing assessments of work practices through peer review or peer assist, whilst implementing improvement actions in the department via team coaching or process implementation.
- Adhering to all site-wide health, safety, environmental & quality compliance standards.
What you will need for this role
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in a maintenance related field or equivalent work experience.
- Experience indicative of high ABS-SAP systems understanding and capability coupled with best-practice asset management philosophy and 3 years asset management or maintenance planning work experience.
- Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) is preferred.
- SAP PM Background and planning work experience (advantageous).

Maintenance Supervisor

What the role entails
Reporting to the assigned Superintendent, Shipping/Fusing, you will be responsible for:
- Understanding the social processes within the team and managing the varying needs of the team members.
- Developing an open and helpful relationship with peers and customers and demonstrating appropriate values within the role.
- Communicating well within the team – a two-way flow of information while supporting and using the HR systems provided.
- Ensuring work is completed in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement and soliciting input from team members.
- Interfacing with the planners and fellow Supervisors to assist in planning and scheduling of work.
- Starting every meeting with a Zero Harm Share and end with a HSEQ thought while reaching annual set goals.
- Monitoring the health & safety of team members, providing feedback where appropriate and visiting site or area of responsibility after each LTI to review incident.
- Assign targets and analyze current & future resources as needed and discussing with the Maintenance Supervisor any additional resources required to assist with the role.
- Complying with Rio Tinto and Statutory Safety requirements and understanding the Maintenance Supervisor’s role, accept decisions and provide support.
- Understanding, applying, adhering to the approved maintenance work management program and ensuring compliance to planned and scheduled work orders.
What you will need for this role
To be considered for this role, you will have:
- High School Diploma or equivalent, degree preferred.
- 5-10 years of experience working in Maintenance of Heavy Mobile equipment or related field.
- 1 to 3 years of experience working under MSHA regulations.
- Advanced knowledge of mining equipment, subsystems, lubrication properties and statistical analysis.
- Knowledge of MS Office applications and CMMS used at B/U.
- SAP Experience (Advantageous).
